The Artery is Able Media's collaborative studio and events space located at the 

Ivy Building in South Minneapolis. Our address is 2718 E 27th St, Minneapolis, MN 55406.

WHO WE ARE

community values & commitments

We are an anti-authoritarian, consent-based collective of artists and community members. We prioritize racial, economic, gender, and disability justice and strive to hold space that is radically inclusive and founded on a liberatory practice and politics.

 

We host regular events and invite working artists, organizations, and community members to join our space as collaborators and renters. Our warehouse is 5,000 square feet and has a large stage and multiple working spaces. More information on space and rentals for artists and events is below. Priority for spaces and events in the studio will be given to folks who are, queer, BIPOC, and/or disabled.

ACCESSIBILITY


We strive to make our space as accessible as possible. 

 

ENTRANCES

- GARAGE DOOR: There is a garage door that opens on our driveway at 2718 E 27th St.

- FRONT ENTRANCE: For studio members and during events when the garage is closed, there is an accessible door with outside and inside locks that opens to E 27th St.

- SIDE/ALLEY DOOR: This door opens to the alleyway next to the driveway and does not open from the outside. It has stairs to get inside and is not an accessible entrance at the moment.

- BATHROOMS: We have two dedicated bathrooms with rollbars that are accessible. They are both gender neutral and open to anyone.

 

EVENTS - 


- ASL Interpretation: We strive to have ASL interpreters for all of our core events. Please let us know of additional accommodations that you may need prior to an event.

- Audio Description: We strive to have Audio Description at all of our core events. Please let us know of additional accommodations prior to an event that you plan to attend.

- Stage Accessibility: We are working to build a new ramp for our stage. We hope to have it completed for the Spoon Factory event on July 21st, 2024 from 2pm to 6pm. There will be food, entertainment, and refreshments!

- Lighting/Sensory: We strive to limit flashing lights and anything that can cause seizures, migraines, or sensory issues. Please call ahead if you have special requests so we can be attentive to your needs.

- Financial: We never turn anyone away for lack of funds. We operate on a sliding scale. PCAs are always free + refreshments.

- Parking: There is street parking on E 27th St. For our core events we can reserve accessible parking directly outside the studio/driveway.

 

- Remote attendance/hybrid space: We would like to explore making more of our events available remotely so that folks can attend from wherever they happen to be. We are currently working to make this more possible in terms of technology and event staffing.
